Your Images Stay on Your Device

Most image tools upload your files to their servers. Pixotter doesn't. Everything happens right here in your browser. Here's exactly how it works.

What Happens When You Drop an Image

1
You drop your image

The file is read directly from your device into your browser's memory. Nothing is sent anywhere.

2
Processing happens locally

Your browser runs the image engine right on your device. Compress, resize, convert, crop — it all happens in memory. No server is involved.

3
You download the result

The processed image goes straight from your browser's memory to your downloads folder. Zero bytes are uploaded at any point.

That's it

When you close the tab, the image is gone from memory. We never had it. We can't access it. There is nothing to delete because nothing was ever stored.

Don't Take Our Word for It — Verify It Yourself

How to check (takes 30 seconds)

  1. Open Pixotter in your browser
  2. Press F12 (or right-click → Inspect) to open Developer Tools
  3. Click the Network tab
  4. Drop an image and process it
  5. Look at the network requests — you'll see page assets (CSS, JS, fonts) but zero image uploads

Every request is visible. If your image were being uploaded, you'd see it. You won't.

How We Compare

Most image optimization tools require uploading your images to their servers. Here's how Pixotter is different:

ToolWhere images are processedImages stored?

TinyPNGTheir serversUp to 48 hours
iLoveIMGTheir serversUp to 2 hours
Compressor.ioTheir serversYes (temporary)
OptimizillaTheir serversYes (temporary)

What About AI Tools?

Background removal and upscaling use AI models that require server processing. When you use these specific tools, your image is sent to our server over an encrypted connection, processed immediately, and deleted. It is never stored, logged, or accessible to anyone. This is clearly labeled on each AI tool page.

All other tools — compress, resize, convert, crop, rotate, watermark, metadata — are 100% local. Your image never leaves your device.
