Terms of Service

The service

Pixotter provides free and paid image optimization tools at pixotter.com. Core tools run in your browser using a WebAssembly processing engine — your images never leave your device. AI tools (background removal, upscaling) and the API process images on our servers and delete them immediately after processing.

By using Pixotter, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Free tier

The free tier includes all tools with the following limits:

• Up to 20 images per batch
• Up to 10MB per file
• Display ads
• 2 custom presets

No account required to use free features.

Pro tier

Pro is available at $4.99/month or $29/year. Pro includes:

• No ads
• Up to 50MB per file
• Up to 100 images per batch
• Unlimited custom presets
• API access

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy handles global tax compliance, billing, and payment processing. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through your Lemon Squeezy billing portal.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Pixotter to process illegal content, including but not limited to content that violates copyright, constitutes child sexual abuse material, or is otherwise prohibited by law.
• Attempt to overwhelm, attack, or degrade our servers or infrastructure through automated requests, denial-of-service attacks, or similar means.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of Pixotter's software beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
• Use automated tools to abuse the free tier or circumvent usage limits.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate suspension of access without notice.

Your images

You own your images. Pixotter claims no rights to any content you process through the service.

For client-side tools: images are processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted to us. We have no access to your images.

For server-side tools (AI tools, API): images are sent to our servers over an encrypted connection, processed, and immediately deleted. We do not store, retain, or access image content beyond the processing operation.

You represent that you have the right to process any images you submit and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.

No warranty

Pixotter is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Accuracy, quality, or suitability of processing results
• Preservation of image quality or metadata
• Availability of specific tools or features

Always keep backups of your original files before processing. We are not responsible for image corruption, quality loss, or data loss resulting from use of the service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pixotter and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to image corruption, quality loss, data loss, lost profits, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

API terms

API access is included with Pro or available on a usage-based basis. Additional terms apply:

• Free tier: 500 operations per month, no API key required, IP-based rate limiting applies
• Rate limits are enforced to ensure fair access for all users
• Abuse of the API — including attempts to circumvent rate limits, reverse-engineer the service, or use the API for bulk processing beyond your plan — will result in key revocation without refund
• API availability and pricing are subject to change with reasonable notice

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Pixotter at any time for violation of these terms, abuse of the service, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. We will attempt to provide notice where practical.

You may stop using the service at any time. Pro subscriptions can be cancelled through your Lemon Squeezy billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal remedies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Pixotter after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
